This pilot project has involved numerous scientific studies on the conservation status of the pietraforte rustication, using cutting-edge equipment thanks to the collaboration between the Superintendency for Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Florence, Pistoia, and Prato, the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Florence, and the Building Directorate of the Metropolitan City of Florence.
The final phase will last about a year and will restore the façade of the first Medici residence in Florence to its former glory.
